Soundings Audio
The final edition of the monthly Soundings audio magazine was produced in March 2008. This web site, which used to carry the magazine, its component interviews and audio material to support those who provide information for vision-impaired people, ceased operating on 31st March.

However, since the beginning of the year, an on-line service, called Infosound, has been offering free, accessible, impartial and relevant information for those in the UK who live with sight loss.

A frequently-updated selection of audio features on a wide variety of topics relevant to vision-impaired people can be played and downloaded from the Infosound web site and the charity also offers a (roughly) 15-minute compilation of items that can be heard in one go.

The web site is designed to be easy to navigate so blind and partially-sighted people who have some form of Internet access can visit the site when they like and pick up the latest information.

It's hoped that families, friends and carers of those who are vision-impaired can also benefit from what they hear and talking newspaper and magazine groups, radio stations and other information providers are welcome to use all the audio that Infosound provides so they can pass it on to their listeners.

It's all on the Infosound web site and it's all free. So please drop by sometime:
